Ten small statues of Roman date, found in Rome and now in museums in Venice, Naples, Paris, and Aix-en-Provence, have usually been considered copies or free adaptations of figures from a sculptural group dedicated by Attalos I or II of Pergamon on the Athenian Acropolis. Also known as the "Little Barbarians." (See A. F. Stewart, Attalos, Athens, and the Akropolis: The Pergamene 'Little Barbarians' and Their Roman and Renaissance Legacy, Cambridge 2004; with a detailed review by B. S. Ridgway in BMCR 2005.07.16.)
