English: Snake Hill (Sheshan) is located on the right (southeastern) side of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, opposite Tortoise Hill (Guishan) which is on the left side. The Snake Hill perhaps was given its name due to its shape, that of a long ridge running roughly perpendicular to the river. The Beijing-Guangzhou railway, on its way from the First Yangtze Bridge to the Wuchang Train Station follows the northern edge of the hill. The Yellow Crane Tower is located near the eastern end of the hill. The adjacent area (with a few more smaller towers etc) in the western part of the hill is the Yellow Crane Tower Park, which requires a stiff admission fee (Y80 in 2011), while the nice park with good trails in the eastern part of the hill is free.
