English: Routemaster bus RM999 (reg. WVS 423, ex-WLT 999) was delivered to London Transport in January 1962, registered as WLT 999. It saw use in London until withdrawal in August 1986. After being sold in April 1987, by October 1989 it was in the hands of London based Kestrell Contracts & Leasing. In May 1993 it was bought for preservation, being re-registered as WVS 423 some time in 1994. In 1995 however, it was bought for further public transport use in the Reading Mainline fleet (15). In May 2000 it was sold to Reading Heritage Travel, retaining its Mainline identity, and seeing use as a private hire vehicle, and as a shuttle bus from Reading station to Rivermead for the annual rail/bus model collectors fare.
