English: Routemaster bus RM1776 (reg. 776 DYE) was delivered to London Transport in December 1963. It saw use in London until withdrawal in November 1987. It then saw further use from 1988 with the newly privatised Greater Manchester Buses (GM Buses), passing in 1990 to Liverpool based Liverline (and thus passing to the North Western company in 1993), who had withdrawn in by 1995. It then saw further use with Blue Triangle, before being bought by Red Bus Fish & Chips of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2000. In March 2001 however, having already passed to a dealer, it was one of a batch of buses bought back by London Bus Services Ltd, being rebuilt and re-engined (Cummins) by Marshall's of Cambridge, for further use in London. It went into operation on route 38 for Arriva London North from June 2002, before being finally withdrawn in October 2005. After being returned to LBSL, it was selected as one of the few buses to continue in service on the Routemaster Heritage Routes, going into service allocated to First London on London Buses heritage route 9 from November 2005.
