The existing naming policy for Hwaseong Fortress Categories is using the Hangul Revised Romanization of the various structures. In the special case of the 10 'Poru' structures, the situation is uneasy since, for an unknown reason, the original Chinese terms 砲樓 (Pào lóu= fortified tower, blockhouse, gun tower) and 鋪樓 (pù lóu= platform, tower with a sentry post) have been alphabetized by the same Hangul 포루, generating several naming collisions. In order to treat differently the different kinds of fortification structures, the following gallery is provided for identification purpose.
