English: The Portal des Alten Botanischen Gartens is the only surviving building in the garden. The gate was not damaged during the Second World War. The purpose of the Botanical Garden is: "At the behest of King Maximilian I Joseph in 1812, the scattered flower species of the artist Earth (here) were gathered." The portal was built in the Early Classicist style by Joseph Emanuel von Herigoyen (1746-1817). There are four Doric columns supporting the middle part of the portal.
