Español: Puente medieval de Besalú. Reconstruido en diversas ocasiones a lo largo del tiempo, las primeras referencias históricas a este puente datan del siglo XI. Está formado por siete arcadas de característica forma angular a causa del asentamiento de los pilares sobre las piedras del río, mide 105m de largo y, con torre incluida, unos 30m de alto. En la época medieval, en la torre fortificada se instaló el pagus condal. Dinamitado durante la Guerra Civil, fue reconstruido posteriormente por el arquitecto Pons Sorolla bajo los auspicios de la Dirección General de Arquitectura. Actualmente es el símbolo de la localidad y el punto más adecuado para acceder a su casco antiguo.
English: Romanesque bridge. The first reference we have to the bridge dates from the 11th century, and it has been rebuilt a number of times over the years. It has seven arches and is characterized by its angular form, a result of the placing of the pillars over the natural stones of the river. It is 105 meters long and 30 meters high, including the defense tower.

In the medieval times, a county pagus was installed in the fortified tower, an obligatory toll paid to enter the town. The bridge was dynamited during the Civil War and later rebuilt by the architect Pons Sorolla, under the criteria of the State Architecture Office.

It is now the symbol of the town and the most suitable entry point into the old town.
Français : La première mention relative à ce pont reconstruit à plusieurs reprises remonte au XIe siècle. Il présente sept arches et se distingue par une forme angulaire imputable au fait que ses piles reposent sur des pierres qui affleurent du lit de la rivière. Il mesure 105 mètres de long et environ 30 mètres de haut, tour défensive comprise.

Au Moyen Âge, le péage comtal était installé dans la tour fortifiée. Dynamité pendant la guerre civile, il a été reconstruit par l’architecte Pons Sorolla sous le contrôle de la Direction générale de l’architecture.

C’est aujourd’hui le symbole de la ville et l’endroit par lequel on accède le plus aisément à ses vieux quartiers.
