English: Penwith was a local government district in Cornwall from 1974 to 2009. Penwith is the most south-westerly district on the British mainland. The main towns are w:Penzance and w:St Ives, Cornwall; w:St Just is a smaller town. Penwith's name was taken from the hundred of Penwith (an obsolete administrative area); however the eastern part of that hundred was included in the Kerrier district from 1974 to 2009.
