Patiala and East Punjab States Union abbreviated as PEPSU was a former state of India from 1948 to 1956. It was created on July 15, 1948 and formally became a state of India in 1950. Patiala and East Punjab States Union (PEPSU) state was absorbed mostly in Punjab state on 1 November 1956.
