English: The Oudin coil, invented around 1893 by Paul Marie Oudin, was a high voltage resonant transformer circuit very similar to a Tesla coil, used in the obsolete medical field of electrotherapy around the first decades of the 20th century. The difference between the Oudin and Tesla coils was that in the Oudin coil the primary and secondary windings were in series like an autotransformer and the output was taken across both.
