English: Ashcroft High School has some heritage-listed memorial gates. These gates were built in about 1845 on a property which later became the Ashcroft Homestead. In 1934 the gates were removed to St Lukes Rectory (now demolished) as a memorial. In 1965 they were erected on this site as a link with the past and the name Ashcroft. They are named after Eliza Ashcroft, wife of Edward James Ashcroft who was the mayor of Liverpool from 1883 to 1885.

The gates consist of four sandstone gate posts and associated pair of wrought iron driveway gates. There are also smaller wrought iron pedestrian gates on each side. The larger stone pillars are approx. 2.25m high and the smaller pillars are approx. 1.95m high. The width of the gates is approx. 9ms. Several plaques are attached to the gate posts, the eastern plaque read as follows:

"Saint Lukes Rectory Liverpool Built in the year 1840 [circa]"

The upper western plaque reads:

"In Memory of Eliza Ashcroft Late of Collingwood, Liverpool Died 18th Sept. 1931 Erected by her Family"

The lower western recent plaque reads:

"These Gates were built in about 1845 on property which later became the Ashcroft Homestead. In 1934 the gates were removed to St Lukes Rectory as a memorial. In 1965 they were erected on this site as a link with the past and the name Ashcroft."

A modern painted wrought iron fence, that forms part of the school's boundary, now runs behind the Memorial implying it is no longer in use as a functioning gateway.
