English: Mabella was built in 1883 by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow as Anaurus, renamed Mabella in 1905, and owned at the time of her loss by A/S Mabella (Karl Bruusgaard), Drammen, was a Norwegian iron ship of 1637 tons. On March 1st, 1917, Mabella was on a voayge from Galveston to Kolding with a cargo of oilcake, when she was stopped and sunk by the German submarine UC-43, 24 miles SSW from the Old Head of Kinsale. There were no casualties.[1]
