English: The Loch Dee was a 700 tons three-masted barque built by McCulloch & Paterson Port Glasgow, possibly for the Loch Line. Later owner was James Sproat, Liverpool, for the New Zealand trade with a fleet of seven smart sailing liners, all named after lochs in the South West of Scotland. The Loch Dee was the second of the Liverpool "Lochs". After making six voyages in the New Zealand trade, this little barque left Lyttelton, homeward bound, under Captain Black on March 8, 1883, and was never heard of again.[1][2]
