Historic Lehigh Canal, one of the earliest canal projects in the United States, the owner/builders Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company delivered clean burning-high energy anthracite coal to the emerging foundries and industries of post-revolution United States fueling North America's Industrial Revolution.

English: The Lehigh Canal is a historical waterway in eastern Pennsylvania, located at the lower reaches of the Lehigh River. The canal built in the early 1820s was one of the earliest means of aiding the bulk transport of goods and raw materials. Fueling the American Industrial Revolution, the canal fed the foundries and factories of Allentown, Bethlehem and via the Delaware River Valley, Philadelphia and other East coast cities with high grade Anthracite.
