English: The La Rochelle was a fully rigged ship, built 1855 by Joh. C. Godeffroy at Reiherstiegwerft, Hamburg, for their own account. The ship was named after the French city from which the Huguenot Godeffroy family had fled to Berlin before settling in Hamburg in 1737. The La Rochelle was a German emigrant ship (from Hamburg arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia). Her dimensions are 52,44 x 9,22 x 6,35 meters and 738 net register tons. The La Rochelle was sold in 1881, as part of the liquidation of the firm's assets, to Bauck, of Helsingborg, Finland and renamed Saturnus.[1][2]
