English: L'Art de la mode, revue mensuelle de l'élégance is a mounthly magazine founded in Paris in August 1880 by Ernest Hoschedé and edited by "Étincelle" [i.e. Marie Biard] until 10th february 1883, according to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Then, a new title was implemented, L'Art et la Mode, journal de la vie mondaine, edited by H. de Hem [Henri de Montaut] with a cover designed by Ferdinand Bac; in 1889, Charles Chantel became editor. In the 1890s, in New York, a mounthly periodical named L'Art de la Mode was published by The Morse-Broughton Company ; it merged with Le Charme in October 1897. Business connections between those two latter magazines might be purely coincidental [?]. In 1922, the french L'Art et la Mode is edited by Geo Dorival. The title ended in 1972 [fr. Encyclopaedia Universalis].
