English: Kells Priory was a house of Augustinian canons dedicated to St. Mary in County Kilkenny, Ireland in the diocese of Ossory. The house was founded in 1183 initially as collegiate by Geoffrey fritz Robert before the first canons arrived in 1193. (See Gwynn and Hadcock, Medieval Religious Houses in Ireland, p. 181. Please note that there were also two other Augustinian monasteries named Kells in Ireland in the counties of Antrim and Meath; both had the rank of an abbey.)
