English: The full-rigged American merchantman Jeremiah Thompson was built 1854 by Perine, Patterson & Stack at Greenpoint, Long Island for Samuel Thompson’s Nephews for their transatlantic trading fleet. From 1868, the ship sails on the route New York - San Franisco around Cape Horn. In May 1877 it will be seriously damaged before the Chilean coast during an earthquake by the tsunami. It is then sold and worked then at the Pacific Coast in the timber trade. In 1892 she was scrapped.
Her dimensions were length × beam = 216 × 42 ft (65.8 × 12.8 m) and they had a tonnage of 1904 tons.[1][2]
