Institut International de Bibliographiee (English International Institute of Bibliography) was an international institute for bibliography. It was created in 1895 at the end of the First International Conference on Bibliography. It was an initiative of Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, Brussels lawyers concerned with standardizing methods in bibliography1 with the collaboration of Hippolyte Sebert. In 1934 its headquarters moved to The Hague. Its name changes from International Institute for Documentation in 1934 to International Federation for Documentation in 1937 to International Federation for Information and Documentation in 1988.
