Deutsch: Daumen drücken (auch: Daumen halten) ist eine Handgeste des Zuspruchs die jemandem Erfolg oder Glück wünscht. Sie ist in den deutschsprachigen Ländern (Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz) sowie in den Niederlanden, Südafrika, Schweden, Estland und in Russland üblich. In anderen Ländern werden die Finger gekreuzt.
English: Holdings thumbs is a hand gesture commonly used to wish for luck. Thumbs of either one or both hands are hidden within the fist. It's mostely commons in germanic influenced countries, like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Estonia and Russia.
