English: High Throston is a suburb of Hartlepool within the borough of Hartlepool and the ceremonial county of County Durham, in England. It is situated on the north-western edge of Hartlepool. The hamlet of High Throston (from the anglo Saxon thosson meaning hill) is situated on a promontory overlooking the Tees bay. It is famed for its golf courses in the country. Remains of a Viking longboat were discovered under one of the greenside bunkers during restoration work and a small museum has been built next to the golf club house. Visitors to the area should try to attend the annual flower show which attracts a huge number of visitors in late may.
