Heritage trees in Singapore are individual mature trees selected for legal protection by law under the Heritage Trees Scheme adopted on 17 August 2001. The scheme is part of a nationwide effort to conserve trees within nature reserves, parks and newly established tree conservation areas, as well as in the general urban and rural environment of Singapore. For a list of heritage trees as as November 2009, see Singapore's Heritage Tree Register (PDF). National Parks Board (November 2009). Archived from the original on 2010-07-12.
