English: Harris & Ewing was a news photography firm in Washington, D.C., from 1905 through 1977. The Library of Congress has a collection of about 70,000 negatives and declare that all photos in this collection have expired copyrights. The founding photographers were George W. Harris and Martha Ewing.

The Library of Congress writes : "The photographic firm of Harris & Ewing, Inc. gave its photographic negatives to the Library in 1955. The Instrument of Gift included restrictions which have now expired. In addition, the Library acquired from various sources photographic prints taken by Harris & Ewing. Copyrights were placed on some of these photographs, but the copyrights have expired. Privacy and publicity rights may apply."
