English: Geyre — a village in Aydın Province, of the Aegean Region in southwestern Anatolia, Asian Turkey.

"Old Geyre" was established in the 17th-18th centuries over the Ancient Greek city of Aphrodisias.
"New Geyre" was established c.1960, when the townsite was moved and rebuilt by the government, to protect the archeological site.

Deutsch: Geyre — Nach dem Niedergang Aphrodisias wurde diese Gegend im 15.Jhd. wieder besiedelt.

Das unmittelbar neben der Ruinenstadt Aphrodisias liegende Dorf erhielt den türkischen Namen Geyre.
