Prior to the construction of the current State House in Providence, Rhode Island had five rotating locations where the General Assembly would meet. They were: old Kent County Courthouse (East Greenwich Town Hall), The Old Statehouse in Providence, The Colony House in Newport, the Kings County Courthouse in Kingston, and the Bristol County Courthouse in Bristol.
