English: Fitzjames was a full-rigged steel-hulled ship built in 1902 by Wm. Hamilton, Port Glasgow for Wm. Montgomery & Co., London. Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 262.5 × 40.1 × 23.6 ft (80 × 12.2 × 7.1 m) and tonnage: 1,951 GRT, 1,831 NRT. 1909 sold to F. Laeisz, Hamburg and renamed Pinnas. 1929 the ship was dismasted off Cape Horn and abandoned due to increased leakage.[1] The Chilean steamer Alfonso saved the crew.[2]
