w:Sir William FitzHerbert, 1st Baronet (1748–1791) of Tissington was 9th in male descent from Nicholas FitzHerbert (d.1472) of Tissington (2nd son of John FitzHerbert of Somersal Herbert, seat of the family from circa 1200) who inherited Tissington by his marriage to Margaret Fraunceys, daughter and heiress of Robert Fraunceys of w:Foremark, Derbyshire (Montague-Smith, P.W. (ed.), Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage and Companionage, Kelly's Directories Ltd, Kingston-upon-Thames, 1968, p.306). These are the arms of John FitzReynold, 1st Baron FitzReynold (d.1310) of w:Blaenllynfi Castle, Wales, who signed and sealed the w:Barons' Letter of 1301, and whose son was Herbert FitzJohn, 2nd Baron FitzReynold, father of Matthew FitzHerbert, 3rd Baron FitzReynold (d.1356) who died without issue (Cokayne, G.
