European Award - Modernization of the Year (http://www.europeanaward.eu) is an international construction contest, supporting and rewarding valuable modernizations and new constructions, held since 2016. It is a continuation of the former Polish nationalwide contest "Modernizacja Roku" ("Modernization of the Year"). The contest is held by Targi Pomorskie Sp. z o.o. (Pomeranian Fairs, Limited Liability Company) together with the Stowarzyszenie Ochrony Narodowego Dziedzictwa Materialnego (Association for Protection of National Material Heritage). Organizers have their partners in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Belarus. Awarding gala ceremony takes place in the Royal Castle in Warsaw every year. The ceremony is traditionally accompanied by a concert of Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble.
