The Esen Epam Forest Reserve is a 4,610 km² protected area of the IUCN-Category V in the contemporary Ghana. The Forest Reserve was established as Protected Area in 1936. The area is located in the traditional area of Akim, and there on the border between the kingdoms of Akim-Bosome and Akim-Kotoko. In prehistorical times (before the immigration of the Akim people), this area was settled by the Nyame Akuma people, how is showed by several archaeological find spots.
