English: Erich Nehlhans (b. 12 February 1899 in Berlin; d. 15 February 1950 in a GULag, Soviet Union), merchant by profession, publisher of greeting and congratulation cards, survived the Shoa living underground in Berlin, elected first post-war president of Jüdische Gemeinde zu Berlin (Jewish congregation of Berlin), abducted in 1948. Sentenced for 25 years of forced labour for alleged anti-Soviet propaganda and having allegedly helped deserted Jewish Soviet soldiers. He perished in an unknown forced labour camp of the GULag in 1950.
