Ptolemy's Geography
	The Geography (Greek: Γεωγραφικὴ Ὑφήγησις, Geōgraphikḕ Hyphḗgēsis, lit. "Geographical Guidance"; Latin: Geographia) was Ptolemy's 2nd-century revision of the now-lost atlas of Marinus of Tyre. It was translated into Arabic in the 9th century, but largely lost within Europe. The Byzantine monk Maximus Planudes discovered or assembled a Greek manuscript shortly after 1295; this work was copied and translated into Latin by Jacobus Angelus in 1406. Shortly after, Claudius Corvus began improving it, adding an extra-Ptolemaic region for Northern Europe and the North Atlantic. These early Latin versions were often entitled Cosmography (Latin: Cosmographia). A list of major manuscripts is here. The incunable editions were:
