English: The Monte Rosa is a mountain massif located in the eastern part of the Pennine Alps, between Italy and Switzerland. Its highest peak Dufourspitze (4.634 m) is the highest mountain of Switzerland and the second highest in Western Europe. Its eastern wall towards Italy, also called Macugnaga wall, is shown in the images in this category. It has a height of ca. 2.400 meters above the valley below and is the highest mountain wall of the Alps.
Deutsch: Der Monte Rosa ist ein ausgedehntes Gebirgsmassiv auf der Grenze zwischen Italien und der Schweiz im östlichen Teil der Walliser Alpen. Sein höchster Gipfel Dufourspitze (4.634 m) ist der höchste Berg der Schweiz und der zweithöchste Westeuropas. Die auf den Bildern in dieser Kategorie abgebildete Monte-Rosa-Ostwand in Richtung Italien (auch Macugnaga-Wand genannt) hat eine Höhe von ca. 2.400 Meter über dem darunterliegenden Tal und ist damit die höchste Bergwand der Alpen.
