Dollis Hill House was an early 19th century farmhouse in North London. Prime Minister William Gladstone regularly visited over a period of 30 years, naming the three to four bayed recessed front modest house one of his favourite places to stay in London and Mark Twain was entertained there. Following fire damage in 1995, the house was a derelict ruin and priority 'A' on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register. Its gardens as public Gladstone Park survive but with an immense repair bill it was demolished in 2012 by its owner, the London Borough of Brent.
