English: The central Monument in memory of the 1953 Uprising in the East German Democratic Republic represented by a groundfloor relief, surrounded by a low barrier, created by Wolfgang Rüppel. The groundfloor monument, on Platz des Volksaufstandes von 1953 (1953 Uprising Square) in Leipziger Straße at the corner of Wilhelmstraße in front of the Detlev-Rohwedder-Haus (Federal Ministy of Finance, formerly seat of several East German ministries; built as Nazi Aviation Ministry [Reichsluftfahrtministerium]), and an older wall-mounted plaque form en ensemble.
