English: The Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC) is a part of the Defense Media Activity’s (DMA) Defense Visual Information Component (DVI), which executes the operational management of visual information for DoD Components in support of U.S. military activities and operations. The DIMOC is the central DoD reception and distribution point for COMCAM imagery. The DIMOC electronically processes and edits imagery acquired by DOD photographers, primarily operating in Joint and Service Combat Camera teams, deployed to wartime, contingency and humanitarian operations, joint exercises, and other operations involving U.S. military forces. DIMOC consists of three major activities:
  • Defense Imagery Management Operations Center/Services Center - Provides DoD enterprise-level visual information services. Coordinates all DoD and public visual information customer fulfillments.
  • Defense Imagery Management Visual Information Records Center - Provides DoD enterprise-level records management. Maintains the DoD physical and digital imagery archive and makes all DoD visual information accessions to the National Archives.
  • Joint Combat Camera Center (COMCAM) - Plans and coordinates for the acquisition and utilization of still and motion imagery in support of joint operations across the range of military operations and exercises. Coordinates directly with Combatant Commands and Joint Staff for Combat Camera (COMCAM) force requirements.
