Cikondang waterfall is located in Sukadana Village, Campaka District, Cianjur Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The location of this waterfall is around 1.5 hours from the city of Cianjur. The location of this waterfall is also near from the megalithic site Gunung Padang, around seven kilometers from the site.

The name of this waterfall is derived from the name of a tree akin to Loa tree or Ficus Subracemosa Blume. This tree can grow as high as 40 meters with diameter of around 1.75 meters. This tree is commonly found in the forests of Southeast Asia. In Java, this tree usually grows at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level.[1]

The height of this waterfall is around 50 meters and located in the expanse of tea plantation of PTPN VIII Panyairan and rice terraces. Cikondang waterfall is not formed from natural springs. Instead, it is a river that flows through canyon.

Above this waterfall, there are traditional tin and gold mine. The traditional miners usually use mercury to wash and separate mining products. This process is called amalgamation. During this process, the waste that generally still contains mercury dissolves and drifts along the flow of water of Cikondang waterfall. Therefore visitors are advised to be cautious when swimming or bathing under Cikondang waterfall.[2]
