These images are high resolution scans of 19th century color lithographs taken by the Boston Public Library and released on a free license on their official Flickr stream http://www.flickr.com/people/24029425@N06/

Some lithographs are displayed at the library on a rotating basis and so many images here are rarely viewed by the public.

Note, where duplicate images are included these are different physical prints of the same painting with variations in printing marks, proof notes, margins, ink colours, physical damage or fading due to age and light exposure. Refer to this example deletion request.

"The Widow", kitsch example of late 19th century popular lithograph of a humorous painting by Frederick Dielman.
