The Chamunda Devi temple in Chamba is an 11th century Hindu goddess temple dedicated to terrific form of Durga. It sits on a hilltop south of Chamba city. The temple is notable for its wood carvings and Hindu artwork. These include a standing four arm Shiva, Durga Mahisasuramardini, another panel with Durga, butter-stealing Krishna near Yasodha, a lady with parrot, Vishnu, Ganesha and others. The Chamunda Devi temple thus includes all major Hindu traditions – Shaktism, Shaivism and Vaishnavism.
