English: Catechetical meetings were annual controls of the literacy and knowledge of the Bible and Luther's Smaller Catechism among the parishoners in the Church of Sweden and Church of Finland. They were held from 1686 to the end of the 19th century. After that, they have been transformed into meetings of an informal character with a sermon by the pastor.
Svenska: Husförhör kallades i Sverige och Finland den årliga kontrollen av församlingsbornas bibelkunskaper, läskunnighet och kunskaper i Luthers Lilla katekes. Förhören, där vars och ens kunskaper betygsattes, hölls av Svenska kyrkans präster från 1686 fram till slutet av 1800-talet. Senare har de omvandlats till möten av mer informell art där prästen håller en bibelförklaring (även kallat läsmöten).
