English: In urban planning, Brusselization (in English, bruxellisation in French and verbrusseling in Dutch) is "the indiscriminate and careless introduction of modern high-rise buildings into gentrified neighbourhoods" and has become a byword for "haphazard urban development and redevelopment".

Français : Bruxellisation est un terme utilisé par les urbanistes pour désigner les bouleversements urbanistiques d’une ville livrée aux promoteurs au détriment du cadre de vie de ses habitants, sous couvert d'une «modernisation» nécessaire. Ce phénomène doit son nom à la ville de Bruxelles où il fut particulièrement sensible dans les années 1960 et 1970, alors que la ville était livrée aux rêves de cité du futur de promoteurs incontrôlés.

Nederlands: Verbrusseling is een pejoratief woord gebruikt door planologen om de anarchistische stedelijke ontwikkeling in een oude en historische stad te omschrijven. De term is afgeleid van de ontwikkelingen die de stad Brussel in de jaren 60 en 70 van de 20e eeuw doormaakte.
