English: Bidston Hill was a four-masted iron ship built in 1886 by T. Royden & Sons, Liverpool for W. Price & Co., Liverpool. Her dimensions were length: 301.5 ft (91.8 m); width: 42.1 ft (12.8 m); depth: 24.6 ft (749.8 cm)

and tonnage 2519 GRT and 2434 NRT. Rigged with royal sails over double top- and topgallant sails. 1887 dismasted off Cape Horn and had to seek refuge at Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. The subsequent repairs required seven months. 1893/94 re-rigged as a fourmasted barque. 1905 wrecked at Cape Furneaux, Staten Island, under command of Captain J. Kendall. The entire crew was later rescued by an Argentian steamer.[1]
