Català: Els Bar mleczny (en polonès significa 'bar de llet' ), és un tipus de establiment on se serveix menjar ràpid molt típic de Polònia. Va ser inventada per les autoritats comunistes de Polònia a mitjans dels anys 1960 com un dels mitjans per oferir menjars barates per doblar el treball en les companyies que no tenien cap funcionari assignat a la cantina. El seu nom originari es deu al fet que fins que a finals dels anys 1980 els menjars servits allí estaven fonamentades en productes lactis - l'existència d'aquests locals està relacionada amb el període de la llei Marcial a Polònia al començament dels 80 quan la carn va ser racionada.
Deutsch: Die Bar mleczny ( deutsch: Milchbar) ist ein gastronomisches Selbstbedienungslokal und die polnische Variante einer Milchbar. Dort werden ganztägig nichtalkoholische Getränke und Speisen (produziert und) verkauft, die aus der traditionellen polnischen Küche stammen. Der Name „Milchbar“ kommt aus der Zeit, als dort vorwiegend Speisen aus Milch, Milchprodukten und vegetarische Gerichte angeboten wurden. Mit den Jahren setzten sich aber auch Fleischgerichte durch. Die Idee zu einem preiswerten Esslokal entstand bereits 1896 und verbreitete sich rasant zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen. Während der Zeit der sozialistischen Volksrepublik Polen dienten die Milchbars der massenhaften Verpflegung breiter Bevölkerungsschichten. Seit 1989 in Polen die freie Marktwirtschaft eingeführt wurde, mussten viele Bars aufgeben.
English: A bar mleczny - literally "milk bar" in Polish (though not to be confused with the Australian milk bar) is a Polish form of cafeteria. They were invented by the communist authorities of Poland in the mid-1960s as a means of offering cheap meals to people working in companies that had no official canteen. Its name originates from the fact that until the late 1980s the meals served there were mostly dairy-based and vegetarian (especially during the period of martial law at the beginning of the 1980s, when meat was rationed).

Polski: Bar mleczny – polski rodzaj baru szybkiej obsługi, który upowszechnił się w okresie międzywojennym i później w okresie powojennym. Bary mleczne były podobne w działaniu do dzisiejszych jadłodajni, ale oparte na kuchni tradycyjnej. Nazwa baru pochodzi od przewagi dań mlecznych. W jadłospisie występowały także potrawy oparte na jajkach (np. omlety), kaszach, czy mące (np. pierogi), a znacznie rzadziej mięsne. W latach pięćdziesiątych XX w. w niektórych barach mlecznych oferowano także piwo.

Foi inventado pelas autoridades comunistas da Polónia, em meados da década de 1960, como forma de oferecer refeições baratas a pessoas que trabalhassem em companias que não tivessem uma cantina.
Svenska: Mjölkbar är en äldre (cirka 1930- till 1960-tal) svensk beteckning för en enklare matservering utan utskänkningsrättigheter. Typiskt för menyn var enkel svensk husmanskost såsom falukorv, makaronilåda och pytt i panna.
