Der Ort liegt am Tanami Track zwischen der Großen Sandwüste und der Tanami Desert, 280 km südöstlich von Halls Creek und 830 km nordwestlich von Alice Springs. English: Balgo is a small Aboriginal community in Western Australia that is linked with both the Great Sandy Desert and the Tanami Desert. The Community is in the Shire of Halls Creek, off the Tanami Road (formerly known as the Tanami Track). It has a petrol station, supermarket, Catholic Parish, School (K–10), Adult Education Centre, Clinic and Police Station. At the 2006 census, Balgo had a population of 460. (→Balgo, Western Australia)

Simple English: Balgo is a small community in Western Australia. It is surrounded by the Great Sandy Desert and the Tanami Desert. It is an Aboriginal community; the area is traditionally Kukatja country. There are also some Pintupi families living there, who were displaced in the 1950s and 1960s. Many of them came to live here from Papunya, including some of the original artists of the Papunya Tula movement. Many of them later left Balgo when Kintore and Kiwirrkurra were set up in the 1980s.
