Relief ~'Residents of Vienna welcome King Matthias' by Lajos Greff /and Lajos Rona?/ (1922) on the facade of the Corvin cinema. Shows: ~The scene of the relief summarizes a historical event. In 1485, King Matthias starved, then took the city of Vienna, forced the city to surrender. Matthias sits his horse proudly, worthy of a king, when he arrives in Vienna. Horse and rider run over an Austrian defender, thus demonstrating that there were casualties. In the background are Matthias' loyal men, against him the "defeated". The Viennese group took off their hats and held hands on their chests as a sign of surrender. In front of the king, a humble citizen kneels and stretches the key to the city. - 1 Corvin Street, Corvin neighborhood, 8th district of Budapest.
