Antoinette d'Orléans (1572-1616) was a French noblewoman. Highly popular at the court of king Henry III of France, in 1587 she married an Italian prince, Carlo de Gondi. After the death of her husband she managed to secure the title of Duke of Retz for her son Henri. When the position of her son was secure she took the veil and she become Sister Antoinette de Sainte Scholastique. In 1606 she was called to the rich royal abbey of Fontevraud in order to become prioress.
