English: The iron barque Abbey Holme was built 1869 in Sunderland. Initially regestired at Liverpool and owned by Nicholson & Co. Later, the ship had several British owners. 1872 collided the Abbey Holme with the 600 tons iron steamer Lapwing near the Isle of Wight. 21 persons loss her life. 1890 wrecked the Abbey Holme at South Shields. The captain, his wife and eight seamen were saved.
Her dimensions were: length: 157.7 ft (48 m); width: 28.2 ft (859.5 cm); depth: 17 ft (518.1 cm) .[1][2]
