Deutsch: Vom 8. Dezember 1932 bis 12. Dezember 1933 unternahm der deutsche Kreuzer Köln eine Ausbildungsreise für zukünftige Offiziere. Sie führte von Wilhelmshaven durch die Nordsee und die Biskaya nach Spanien. Anschließend ging es ins Mittelmeer, wo Italien und Ägypten besucht wurden. Dann ging es durch den Sueskanal in das Rote Meer und in den Indischen Ozean. Auf der Fahrt von Sabang nach Fremantle fand am 2. März 1933 die Äquatortaufe statt. Die weiteren Stationen waren Sydney, Hobart, Rabaul, Guam, Japan, China, Flores und Ceylon. Danach ging es wieder durch den Suezkanal, durch das Mittelmeer, die Biskaya und die Nordsee zurück nach Wilhelmshaven. Die Bilder zeigen Mitglieder der Besatzung und Besucher des Schiffs während des Hafenbesuchs in Sydney sowie Vertreter der örtlichen Behörden.
English: From 8 December 1932 to 12 December 1933, future officers took a training trip on the German cruiser Köln. It went from Wilhelmshaven by the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay to Spain. Then it went to the Mediterranean, and visited Italy and Egypt. Then it went through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. On the way from Sabang to Fremantle the equator crossing took place on 2 March 1933. The other stops were Sydney, Hobart, Rabaul, Guam, Japan, China, Flores and Ceylon. Then it went back through the Suez Canal, through the Mediterranean, the Bay of Biscay and the North return to Wilhelmshaven. The pictures show the crew members and visitors of the ship during the port visit to Sydney as well as representatives of local authorities.
