The former New York City Police Headquarters at 300 Mulberry Street (and 301 Mott Street), mid-block between Houston Street and Bleecker Street, opened in 1863, the year of the New York City draft riots. It replaced the headquarters at the corner of Broome Street and Elm Street. Sources:
