The 1953 Packard Caribbean Convertible Model 2631-2679 was derived from the 1951-52 show car. The car was heavily modified from the still available Packard 250 Convertible. The 1953 Packard Caribbean came in solid colors, and featured round open wheel cutouts without fender shrouds. All Caribbeans have fake air intakes on the hood instead a hood ornament, and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. "Continental" spare wheel kit was standard equipment in 1953 and 1954.

The 1953 Caribbean rode on Packard's shorter (122 in.) wheelbase. Engine is the stock 1953 straight-8 with 327 c.i. (5359 cc), delivering 180 bhp.
