English: The 1890 King County Court House covered an entire block east of Seventh Avenue between Alder and Terrace Streets in the south part of Seattle, Washington's First Hill; the area became known as "Profanity Hill" for the miserable climb up from downtown. This was the courthouse until 1917, after which it continued for over a decade as just the county jail, and was torn down in 1930. The location would now be roughly between Harborview Medical Center and Interstate 5.
